Dr. John Eugene is a Cardiovascular Surgeon who is in private practice for over 20 years in Southern California. He has offices in Los Angeles County and Orange County. His practice includes surgery of the heart, blood vessels and lungs. He is a pioneer in the new field of Endovascular Surgery, using minimally invasive techniques to operate and repair blood vessels. Recently published data from the California Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (CABG) operative mortality report ranks Dr. Eugene's performance in the TOP 10% statewide. He is a patient advocate, who provides honest, informed choices for his patients to assist them in making their own health care decisions.

Dr. John Eugene received his Medical Degree from the State University of New York at Brooklyn in 1972. Residencies in Surgery and Thoracic Surgery were done at University of California San Francisco, University of California Davis and University of California Irvine. He was a Faculty Member for the Department of Surgery at University of California Irvine for 25 years.

Dr. Eugene is a member of over 20 nationally recognized medical and surgical physician associations. Among the most notable are his membership as a Fellow American College of Cardiology, a Fellow American College of Surgeons, and a Fellow American College of Chest Physicians. He is a Diplomate American Board of Thoracic Surgery (recertification 2002) and a Diplomate American Board of Surgery (recertification 2000).
He has published over 60 major research articles involving surgical treatment of cardiovascular disease, emphysema, and diseases of the abdominal and thoracic aorta using LASER and minimally invasive techniques.

Dr. Eugene serves as the Chairman of the Cardiovascular Surgery Department and Chairman of the Endovascular Surgery Department at Anaheim Memorial Medical Center. He has served as Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Little Company of Mary Hospital and Western Medical Center Anaheim. He has acted as a consultant for the Department of Surgery at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Long Beach.
